5-Star Marriott Hotel to be Built in IKN
The Nusantara Capital Authority (IKN) through PT Bina Karya (Persero) and PT Makmur Berkah Hotel has signed a cooperation agreement for the construction of an International Marriott Hotel. This five-star hotel is planned to be built in the IKN area.
The agreement was signed by the President Director of PT Bina Karya Boyke Prasetyanto and the President Director of PT Makmur Berkah Hotel Johan Tedja Surya at APL Tower, Podomoro City, West Jakarta, on Tuesday (2/7/2024).In his speech, the Main Commissioner of PT Makmur Berkah Hotel Adi Saputra Tedja Surya targeted the opening of 1,000 rooms, including in IKN, within the next 4 years.
The agreement includes the planning, construction, development, operation, and commercialization of the International Marriott Hotel in IKN.
"So this is not just the signing of an MoU, but we indeed want to start building the hotel immediately," said Adi in a written statement on Wednesday (3/7/2024).Meanwhile, the President Director of PT Bina Karya, Boyke Prasetyanto, revealed that the process carried out for development in the IKN area is quite strict.
"In the IKN Authority, the process is quite strict because there is a lot of interest in entering this area. Out of a total of 250,000 hectares, only 30% can be built on, the rest is forest," said Boyke.With this agreement, Boyke feels honored to be able to cooperate with PT Makmur Berkah Hotel to build an international five-star hotel in the IKN area.Based on the agreement made, both parties agreed to build this five-star hotel by applying environmental (environment), social, and governance (ESG) principles.
