Erick Thohir Ensures SOEs Are Ready to Supply IKN's Energy Needs
Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Erick Thohir stated that SOEs are ready to supply the energy needs, including electricity and gas, for government offices in the new capital city of Nusantara (IKN) for the August 17th ceremony in the new capital. He disclosed this while checking the preparedness of various state-owned companies in providing the main supporting facilities for the 79th Independence Day celebration on Saturday (June 29, 2024).
"Minister of SOEs, Erick Thohir, stated the readiness of SOEs in supplying energy needs, including electricity and gas, for government offices in IKN," wrote the Ministry of SOEs on its official Instagram account, Tuesday (July 2, 2024).
The Ministry of SOEs then detailed the readiness of several SOEs in IKN. First, PLN is ready to use solar power plants (PLTS) in IKN to supply 10 MW of electricity from a total capacity of 50 MW, a 150 KV Gas Insulated Substation (GIS) with a capacity of 2x60 MVA, transmission networks, distribution networks, and 9 switching substations and distribution substations. The total power requirement for the main venue of the Independence Day ceremony is 1.5 MW, and PLN also guarantees the reliability of backup supply in the form of generators and UPS.
Then, PT Telkom, responsible for telecommunications, has prepared a Fixed Broadband (FBB) network at 10 locations in IKN and Jakarta with a total backbone capacity of 200 Gbps and 34 Telkomsel BTS for mobile broadband (2G, 4G, 5G). FBB can serve 35 thousand customers with excellent reliability."Since the Independence Day event will be held simultaneously in IKN and Jakarta, Telkom is also obliged to ensure that the TV Pool runs smoothly so that interactive communication between the Presidential Palace in IKN and the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta does not experience any problems," explained the Ministry of SOEs.
Regarding the presence of construction SOEs, the Ministry of SOEs explained that they are responsible for providing various physical facilities for the Presidential Palace, which has reached 77.9% completion, and the Minister's Official Residence Area, which consists of 36 units.
In addition, another construction SOE, PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk., is also responsible for the construction of the Presidential Secretary Building, which has reached 91.12%, the Coordinating Ministry 3 building covering political and security affairs (80.14%), and the Coordinating Ministry 4 building covering human development and cultural affairs (85.22%).
