Clean Water to Flow to IKN Next Week
The clean water supply in the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) is targeted to flow next week. This is because the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) announced that the commissioning process or clean water testing had begun on Wednesday (10/7/2024) at 22:00 WITA.
"As promised, the commissioning test started on the 10th at 10 PM," said Danis H Sumadilaga, Head of the IKN Infrastructure Development Implementation Task Force, to reporters on Saturday morning (13/7/2024).Danis then sent a link containing a detailed explanation of the clean water commissioning test in IKN. In the video, it is explained that the water network testing is entering phase 1, consisting of a dry test or mechanical and electrical running test at the Sepaku Water Treatment Plant (IPA).
Danis further explained that the phase 1 commissioning test is the initial step to ensure clean water flows in the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) of IKN. From the initial test results, Danis stated that the phase 1 commissioning test was successful. This was marked by the operation of a centrifugal pump that functions to push water from the IPA to KIPP."The centrifugal pump functions to push water from the IPA water treatment plant to KIPP for distribution to buildings or parcels (land areas)," said Danis.
After the phase 1 dry test commissioning, PUPR will proceed with the wet test phase, which aims to test the water flow in the distribution pump.The subsequent phases include phase 2, which tests the reliability of the treatment units in the IPA system. The treatment capacity reaches 150 liters/second towards the clearwell unit with a capacity of 2,000 m³.Meanwhile, phase 3 is a complete test of the drinking water supply system. The treated drinking water from the Sepaku IPA will be channeled through the drinking water transmission pipe to the main reservoir with a capacity of 2x6000 m³.
If all phases go smoothly, Danis said that the clean water supply is expected to enter KIPP in the second week of July 2024. These various tests are conducted to ensure the availability of clean water for the 79th Independence Day celebration at IKN."And then there are a series of second and third phase commissioning tests. We hope that by mid-July (2024) all these commissioning phases will be completed so that, God willing, water for IKN can be distributed in the second week of July 2024," he explained.
