Current Condition of the IKN Field Ahead of the August 17 Ceremony
Preparations for the ceremony field in the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) are ongoing. This field will be used as the venue for the 79th Independence Day celebration of Indonesia on August 17, 2024."In terms of readiness for the August 17 ceremony, the ceremony field is indeed ready to support the upcoming ceremony," said Taufik Syahril, an HSE officer at the State Palace and Ceremony Field, in an Instagram post by IKN Authority @ikn_id, quoted on Monday (July 8, 2024).
Taufik, along with the project workers for the State Palace and Ceremony Field, is optimistic about completing the construction process on time, ensuring good quality, especially in terms of health, safety, and environment."We remain optimistic about completing this project on time and with good quality, prioritizing HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment)," Taufik added.
Meanwhile, Danis H. Sumadilaga, Head of the IKN Infrastructure Development Task Force at the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR), said the field has a total capacity of 8,000 people. This is more than the previous report which stated that the 14,250 m² field could accommodate 4,000 people.
However, Danis admitted that he could not specify the number of participants for the August 17, 2024 ceremony, including both ceremony personnel and invitees, as the PUPR is only responsible for providing basic infrastructure.
"It can accommodate 8,000, but we don't know the exact number of invitees. There are two categories: invitees and ceremony personnel, but in total, we can accommodate 8,000," Danis said at the PUPR Ministry Office, South Jakarta, on Friday (July 5, 2024)."The PUPR's duty is to provide facilities and infrastructure; the arrangement of invitations is handled by the Presidential Secretariat and State Secretariat. That's it," he added.
For various other projects, Danis mentioned that they are being expedited to be completed by the end of July 2024. Some of these include the President's Office, Presidential Palace, National Axis Area, Memorial Park, and Nusantara Veranda.Meanwhile, projects targeted to be functional include the Office of the Presidential Secretariat (Setpres), the State Secretariat (Setneg), and several Coordinating Ministry Offices.
