The first phase of construction for the palace and presidential office infrastructure in the Nusantara Capital (IKN) has reportedly reached an average of 80% completion. This progress is said to be on schedule.
"The palace building is nearly 70% complete, the presidential office is almost 90% complete, progressing faster. Drinking water is on schedule. The palace is on schedule. (Progress) 90% (presidential palace) plus 70% (presidential office) equals 160%, so on average, it's more than 80%," said Danis H. Sumadilaga, Head of the IKN Infrastructure Development Task Force, at the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing office in South Jakarta.
Danis said that the construction of the palace and the presidential office is the first phase of the IKN project, with a maximum budget allocation of Rp 25 trillion. Within a month of work, the pillars and the Garuda bird logo at the palace have been completed.
"A month ago, it was still just land. The podium area is finished. The scaffolding will soon be removed. The Garuda bird logo at the palace is done. The columns and pillars of the presidential palace are decorated. Glass installation, ceilings, corridors, and painting have also started," he added.
Furthermore, Danis revealed that this project prioritizes local materials or Domestic Component Level(TKDN). For example, the lights come from Boyolali, Central Java.
"Fully TKDN. The interior includes lights from Boyolali, Central Java. TKDN varies, but for technology-intensive items like lifts and elevators, they are sourced from abroad. However, we truly prioritize TKDN," he concluded.
IKN could become the next target for investors, both domestic and international, due to the promising future of the sustainable projects initiated during President Jokowi's administration. The need for construction tools and supporting infrastructure is critical for continuing IKN development. There will undoubtedly be a massive need for maintenance of the skyscrapers, requiring heavy equipment such as Boomlifts and scissorlifts for maintenance activities. Max Rent Indonesia, as one of the leading heavy equipment rental companies in Indonesia, can provide the necessary infrastructure and needs. With its fleet and numerous units, Max Rent Indonesia can offer long-term solutions for the maintenance of buildings in IKN in the future."
