Prepare for the August 17 Ceremony in IKN, Erick Thohir Gathers State-Owned Enterprise Executives
Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir held a meeting with several top executives from state-owned companies such as PLN, Pertamina, Telkom, Waskita Karya, Wijaya Karya, Adhi Karya, and PP earlier today, Wednesday (June 19). The purpose of the meeting was to ensure the readiness of each state-owned enterprise for the 79th Indonesian Independence Day Ceremony in the Nusantara Capital (IKN) on August 17, 2024. According to him, the ceremony, which will be led by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), is very important.
"This is a very important state event, and I believe it is a goal we must ensure runs successfully," said Erick at the start of the meeting, as quoted from his Instagram post (@erickthohir), Wednesday (June 19, 2024).
During the occasion, the executives presented their respective readiness reports. One example was PLN's preparation in terms of electrical readiness at IKN during the ceremony.
In Erick's post, it was not explicitly mentioned who presented PLN's readiness report. However, it was mentioned that this state-owned company has prepared solar power plants (PLTS), Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), and emergency generators.
"In addition to what we draw from PLTS and the grid, we also have our UPS backup, sir. So if something happens to the PLTS, our UPS is sufficient. Besides UPS, we also have emergency generators," explained one of PLN's executives to Erick.
Additionally, there were clips of other state-owned enterprise executives presenting the readiness of facilities at the Presidential Palace in IKN for the upcoming August 17 ceremony. For example, the readiness of the Credential Room, the first chamber reached after entering the main gate of the Palace.
"PLN so far is okay, the palace so far is okay, this is also okay, right," Erick responded to the reports.
